“When the truth is known ignorance cannot be, when the mind is pure there is no disease, when the breath is mastered there is no death, therefore, surrender to Yoga.” - Tirumalai Krishnamacharya

Join me for a class designed to invite relaxation into your body and help you gently stretch to recover your body from the day. Perfect for those who spend most of the day sitting in front of a computer screen and those who need to gently release tensions after a demanding work day.

In this class we will invite our bodies to move in connection with our breath and find ease as we stretch, strengthen, and open our bodies through gentle dynamic movement. Focusing primarily on mindfully observing our movements and linking each movement with breath, we will experiment as we deep dive into present-momement awareness together. In this class you will learn how to breathe on your mat so you can gain the most benefits from your practice, both on and off the mat. For 35/50 minutes we will gently move the body in sync with our breath and then devote the last 10/15 minutes of class to deep relaxation and easy guided meditation.

All physical ability levels, injuries, ages, etc. are welcome and encouraged to join.

Modifications are provided. Chair use is encouraged during class!

Mindfulness Class for Caregivers

The Penn Memory Center

Online through Zoom

Mondays, January 27 through April 21, 1 p.m. (No class on March 10)

Oliver Jane guides participants in a virtual program of meditation and mindfulness that focuses on techniques of meditation & mindfulness to promote well-being.

Weekly on Monday afternoons, we will explore mindfulness exercises that can be done in a group and/or solo when you are at home.

In this group, we hope to build a community and a basic understanding of how mindfulness can be integrated into your daily life. Mindfulness practices and exercises can help ease your stress, calm your mind, and ground you in the present moment.

Each session will include guided meditations, mindfulness and meditation techniques, and group discussions. We welcome all experience levels with meditation and mindfulness and will make the class accessible to those with cognitive impairment or dementia.
